Jumeirah Islands is a self-contained Dubai community of 50 islands, where residents enjoy lush landscaping and strolls through quaint walkways – away from the stress of city life

When you think of Dubai, you may not conjure up lush green communities with gentle waterfalls and picturesque, winding alleyways – but then Jumeirah Islands is a bit special. Located near to Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Marina, and the Palm Jumeriah, the luxury villa community is one of Nakheel’s most prestigious communities. The developer uniquely designed the project in the form of a cluster of 50 small islands with 736 individually styled villas spread across them. Residential units are well furnished, and feature airy interior design and unique architecture.

All the islands were created to provide high end lifestyle amenities to the discerning residents.

Major facilities include: a recreation centre, a gym, community gardens, open air entertainment areas, waterfront ways, a cycling track, and ten dynamic waterfalls. This unique island community gives its residents a true feeling of luxury and convenience as everything is available very close to hand. The prime location of the project also allows easy access to other key destinations like Dubai Marina Mall, Emirates Golf Club, as well as many of Dubai’s renowned schools, colleges and medical facilities.

A FEAT OF ENGINEERING

This impressive project used an ultramodern pumping and recycling system to pump and recycle sea water into the artificial lake on daily basis. The high salt level of sea water prevents larvae and insects from breeding, which means the neighbourhood is largely bug free. Its large land to water ratio (23:77) also enabled Nakheel to claim Jumeirah Islands to be the world’s largest inland manmade island community. The whole project is spread over an area of 300 hectares – or 740 acres. NEW DEAL FOR BUYERS For those who fancy a slice of this exclusive island life, Nakheel recently launched a ‘pay 10 per cent and move in’ promotion for Jumeirah Islands, where a buyer has two years to pay the rest. The master developer also confirmed that UAE banks have come on board to offer up to 75 per cent of the property value. As an example, a four-bedroom unit in Jumeirah Islands goes for around Dh4.15 million.

RETAIL PAVILION AT TOWNHOUSE COMMUNITY OPEN

Just recently, the waterfront retail pavilion at the new Dh450million Jumeirah Islands townhouses community has opened. The townhouses are located on the northwestern side of the wider Jumeirah Islands. The glam new pavilion features 14 shops, restaurants and cafes, with Choithrams serving as the anchor outlet. Other outlets include The Hamptons, Mikel Coffee, Mawlawiyah Lounge, Karam Beirut, Oregano, Nando’s, AVEC, Al Garhoud Private Hospital Clinic, The Loft Fifth Avenue, Super Trim, Round 10 Boxing Club, Life Pharmacy and Champion Cleaners. In total, the pavilion has 30,000 sq ft of shop space and is also surrounded by a 1.1km waterside jogging track. It is the fifth community retail centre opened by Nakheel and is aimed to cater towards the roughly 8,000 residents at Jumeirah Islands. Nakheel has also started the handover of townhouses at the community last month. It is comprised of 84 four-bedroom homes, each spread across 3,600 sq ft and featuring a double garage, maid’s room, study and private garden. So far, 60 per cent of the project has been sold, confirmed Nakheel chairman Ali Rashid Lootah – about 25 properties have been reportedly handed over. “We are confident that we will see more demand from investors as they come and have a look at the houses and the community facilities such as the pavilion,” he told the media.
